Meet The Aarons: A Worldschooling, Homeschooling Family of Five

We’re The Aarons — a homeschooling, worldschooling family of five learning, living, and exploring the world together. Our family includes Fightress and Marcus, and our three adventurous children: Kyrie (10), Kaiya (5), and Kamille (2).

Our mission is simple: to nurture curiosity, connection, and courage through real-world learning. We believe that education doesn’t just happen behind a desk — it happens in every country we visit, every meal we share, and every person we meet along the way.

Our Journey

We began our 2025 worldschooling adventure by traveling to Portugal, where a short nine-day trip turned into nine incredible weeks exploring Porto, Coimbra, Óbidos, Viseu, and Lisbon. Those weeks opened our eyes to the rhythm of slow travel and the power of cultural immersion as a family.

After returning home to Alabama to rest and reset, we packed our van and set off on a cross-country roadschooling trek — traveling from the Deep South through the East Coast and Northeast, learning as we went. Our route took us through North Carolina, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and New York, before we crossed into Canada to continue our studies, exploration, and adventure in St. Catharines, Ontario.

Each stop became a classroom.
Each conversation became a lesson.
Each day became a reminder that learning is everywhere.

Our Learning Philosophy

At home and abroad, our homeschool — Aaron Academy of Learning and Exploration — blends faith, creativity, and cultural awareness with a trauma-informed, neurodivergent-friendly approach. We focus on:

  • Interest-led learning rooted in curiosity and exploration

  • Cultural education through travel and hands-on experiences

  • Holistic wellness that honors mind, body, and spirit

  • Identity-affirming education for raising confident, empathetic children

We believe in equipping our kids to see the world not as tourists, but as thoughtful global citizens.

Our Why

As a family, we’re redefining what education and freedom look like. We want our children to understand history where it happened, taste culture at its source, and see faith and humanity reflected across the globe.

We’re not escaping the world — we’re learning from it. One country, one connection, one moment at a time.
